The old-fashioned once-per-year annual review is going away to be replaced with a more open, transparent, "always-on" process. Deloitte research shows that over 70% of companies are simplifying the process, and there is a dramatic shift away from "forced ranking" and "numeric ratings" toward programs to facilitate feedback, encourage coaching, and evaluate people on contributions broader than their individual numeric or project goals (Forbes, 2016).
